If your BMW soft top has stopped working, the failure is almost always one of four parts: the hydraulic pump motor (top moves slowly, stalls partway, or does nothing while you hear the pump run), the hydraulic cylinders and lines (fluid leaks, top drops unevenly), the front roof lock latch or actuator (top won't seal to the windshield header, or throws a fault), or the tonneau / compartment lid motor (the rear deck lid won't lift so the top can't fold away).

Diagnosing it correctly matters, because these parts are not interchangeable across chassis. An E46 pump is not an E93 pump. Check your chassis code before ordering, and use the fitment details on each listing.
