The CLK's most common top failures are the hydraulic pump motor and the front roof lock latch. On the pump, the classic symptom is a top that starts moving then stops partway, often with the hydraulic pump audibly running. On the latch, the top completes its cycle but won't pull down and seal against the windshield header, and the car may refuse to complete the sequence at all.

A leaking main lift cylinder is the third common culprit — usually visible as hydraulic fluid staining in the rear quarter or a top that sits unevenly on one side.

W208 (1997-2003) and W209 (2003-2009) parts are not interchangeable. Check your chassis code and year before ordering, and use the fitment information on each listing.
