How you'll know it's this

The roof finishes its travel and looks closed, but it doesn't clamp. You get wind noise at highway speed, and in heavy rain water starts appearing at the top corners of the windshield. Owners often chase weatherstripping first — but if the seal was fine last year and the latch feels loose or notchy in operation, the latch is where to look.

Left long enough, a worn latch stops confirming lock altogether, and the car may refuse to run the top sequence at all.
